About This Ball
For a kicker, the football is part of the kick. The Kicking Prepped Wilson GST is a new official-size Wilson GST, hand-prepped specifically for kicking — so it shows up broken in, clean, and ready for field goals, kickoffs, and punts the day it arrives.
It goes through the same multi-step prep as our quarterback balls — mud, brush, condition, seal — but with extra emphasis on the two things a kicker feels most: roundness and softness.
Our Prep Process
- Factory wax removed — the slick coating that makes new leather feel like a "slick brick" is stripped off.
- Lena Blackburne rubbing mud — worked into the pebbling to build real grip.
- Horsehair brushing — opens up the grain and raises the tack.
- Conditioned — softens the leather for a broken-in feel.
- Sealed — with a Wilson wax bar so the prep lasts.
- Hand grip test — every ball is checked by hand before it ships. Not right? It gets redone.
